They may cause severe back pain or problems with eczema under the breasts. Breast reduction may therefore significantly improve a client's health and psychic wellbeing.

Beautiful smaller breasts no longer have to be a dream - reduction surgery is here to help.

Before the treatment

Before the treatment, it is necessary to first consult a specialist at our clinic. The doctor will evaluate the client's overall health condition and explain the procedure, post-operative regimen and the potential risks of the treatment. With the reception desk of the clinic, we will arrange the date of the required pre-operative examination and the surgery. For clients of a more advanced age, we will also carry out preventive ultrasonography or mammography.

During the treatment

Breast reduction is performed under general anaesthesia and takes between 2 and 3 hours. The surgeon makes incisions following pre-operative drawings, removes excess skin, mammary glands and connective tissue. The areola will then be placed in the desired position and if required, reduced to the required diameter.
The wounds are closed with a special continuous absorbable thread that ensures the scars will be as small as possible. The surgery leaves marks around the areola and below, in the shape of an inverted T.Finally, drains are introduced to minimise the risk of bruising. These are kept in together with a chest bandage for 48 hours.

After the treatment

After redressing and the removal of drains, the client wears a sports bra for 6-8 weeks. After 2 to 3 days, clients are discharged to home care and return for regular checkups. Return to work is usually possible after 2 weeks. Patients should avoid challenging physical activities, sports and lifting of heavy objects for 2 months. Post-operative scars fade over a period of 6 months and become less noticeable. They can be later be almost completely removed at our clinic using the Palomar LUX 1540 laser.

Who can be treated?

Breast reduciton is performed for women over 18 years of age. In exceptional cases, particularly for health reasons, it is also possible at a younger age. The procedure is not recommended for women who plan to become pregnant and breastfeed.
